Oakland Chinatown - Amy

I spent a little bit of time today in photographing Oakland's Chinatown for my daily art. It's not as impressive as San Francisco's or NY but it has its spots of interest. I also noticed that I was a bit self conscious taking pictures of people which was my initial intention. Either I have to get over this hesitation or get myself a better lens! I tried doing a bunch of shots where I did not look into the viewer to see if anything of interest would unfold. It did not.

  1. I love chinatowns where ever they are. How cool to have one near by. The best we can do here in Florida is the Morikami Japanese Garden which is wonderful. Love your shot!

  2. I visited the garden a few years ago (my parents are in Delray Beach for the winter). It is very beautiful

  3. Between this and your FB post (the other day) about going to dim sum, I'm hungry! Have you seen the night herons who perch in Oakland Chinatown?

  4. I did not see the night herons - are they actual birds or a statue? We occasionally get one in our backyard and have eaten up our koi. Impressive birds. They seem to have expensive tastes (they left the free goldfish alone)
